Bryan C. Rice has been appointed by various State District Courts to serve as a receiver for operating businesses and/or personal assets of individuals involved in a matrimonial dissolution and/or business disputes.
A Receivership involves the appointment of a Receiver by the Court or by mutual agreement of the parties. The Receiver takes ownership and management control of closely-held businesses and/or assets to ensure their preservation or orderly sale. A Receivership also involves the preparation of an inventory of the assets under the control of the Receiver and presenting accountings of the asset(s) and the incomes generated by the assets to the Court along with recommendations as to whether the assets should be preserved for future division or if they should be liquidated. A Receivership often involves elements of forensic accounting to determine if any party to the dispute has dissipated or removed assets from the business or Marital Estate.
